"She said YES!!!"
D-Wade was understandably excited (hence the three exclamation points) to be heading toward wedded bliss with Union, whom he's been dating since 2009.
According to Essence, Wade shared some of his thoughts on the relationship with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show back in September:
A celebrity relationship is very hard. This was a big year for us in our relationship from the standpoint of she was shooting her show Being Mary Jan. I was dealing with my injuries, trying to win a championship. We kind of took a step back. We supported each other, but we took a step back for a little while. At the end of day, we came back together and said, 'Listen, we want to continue this. We want to try to continue to get better each day.' She's been with me and I've been with her all summer long. We're going strong now.
Union is quite the catch, even for an NBA star. According to IMDb, she's been named to the Maxim Hot 100 multiple times, speaks fluent Spanish, played soccer at the University of Nebraska and has loads of acting credits to her name.
Based on the size of the ring, it's obvious Wade wanted to lock her down.
Union is pumped about the engagement as well, as she took to her Twitter account to share her feelings:
Maaaaaannn... I'm floatin! Thank you SO much for all the love, well wishes & support!— Gabrielle Union (@itsgabrielleu) December 22, 2013
