Tulane - 21
Louisiana-Lafayette - 24
The best bowl game of the day nearly needed overtime to be decided, but a missed field goal attempt by Tulane allowed Louisiana-Lafayette to win its third straight New Orleans Bowl. This game was full of momentum shifts and great, sometimes sloppy, play from both sides. But in the end, the Ragin' Cajuns made just a couple more plays than the Green Wave to squeeze out a slim victory.
Both defenses played extremely well, but a combined five interceptions helped make the difference in the game, as both teams thrived off turnovers. Unfortunately for Tulane, Louisiana-Lafayette's made field goal in the fourth quarter was sparked by an interception. It gave the team a lead that wouldn't be matched.
The Cajuns have now won three straight bowl games, while Tulane will have to wait until next season to win its first bowl since 2002.
