Rivers and the Chargers are riding high coming off of two straight victories leading up to this week’s game against the Raiders. Last week, the quarterback completed 12-of-20 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-20 win over the Broncos.
Facing the division-leading Broncos, Rivers made all the right decisions, which mostly included handing the ball off to Ryan Mathews. For two straight weeks, Rivers has limited his pass attempts due to the success of the Chargers’ running game in controlling the clock. That trend will likely continue against an Oakland defense that allowed Jamaal Charles more than 200 yards from scrimmage last week.
