SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - MAY 3: Retiring Australian coach John Buchanan speaks to the media at a press conference shortly after arrival at Sydney International Airport on May 3, 2007 in Sydney Australia. The Australian World Cup team returned home from the We

John Buchanan's love for technology is a well established fact. However the effective usage of the same by him is a relentless debate. Let us take a look at the three research areas in computer science; the ones that I presume are capable of satisfying Buchanan's appetite for technology.

P.S: I presume Mr. Buchanan is taking notes.

Artificial Intelligence

He might eventually build intelligent cricketers by incorporating bio-inspired computing and cognitive science.
The intelligence quotient of those cricketers would actually be measured in terms of compliance with a set of strategic theories (note: only theories) from the JB Labs.
Any one identified with a quotient below the predefined threshold would be left to warm the bench.

Cryptography

More controversial than his mind games are his bizarre captaincy strategies and no wonder he might want to try his hands in this area.

By investing in cryptography he might be able to hand over the captaincy to the "intelligent" person who succeeds in cracking the code for his ultra modern cryptex built using the enhanced secure hybrid hash algorithm.

Grid Computing

He might as well be interested in using processing power of all the computers in the world so as to arrive at a more complicated (feel free to replace complicated with all related adjectives) JB Algorithm to enhance the Duckworth Lewis system and obtain a royalty for a hassle free retirement.

N.B. Mr.Buchanan has set his laptop on fire. He has reportedly announced that he has understood the intricacies of technology as a certain writer from B/R has imparted some much needed wisdom. Technology never was and never will be his play.
