The Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies both looked to right the ship when the teams squared off Tuesday night in Memphis. Los Angeles had dropped four of its last five, while Memphis was in the midst of a similar slide, having lost three straight and five of its last six.
Vintage Kobe Bryant made an appearance in this one, as he works to get himself up to full strength. The Black Mamba scored 21 points on 9-of-18 from the field, adding five rebounds, four assists and a steal and a block for good measure. His lone three-pointer came late in the fourth quarter and put the game out of reach.
The Lakers spoiled the Grizzlies' hopes of halting their losing streak with the 96-92 victory. Zach Randolph led the way for Memphis with an 18-point, 16-rebound double-double, but didn't get much help. You're not going to have a great deal of success when Tony Allen is your second-leading scorer.
