The Detroit Red Wings and The Pittsburgh Penguins faced off Saturday night in Game One of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals with the Wings winning 3-1.

This series pits two of the league's best scorers, Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, against the league's most complete team, the Red Wings.

Nik Lidstrom made his return after missing the majority of the Western Conference Finals against Chicago.

Pavel Datsyuk did not lace up the skates Saturday as he was scratched from the Red Wings' lineup. Game One took place at the JLA (Joe Lewis Arena), beginning at 8:00 p.m.

The Forecheck Reports' gut prediction for this series is: the Red Wings take down the Pens in six games. The series should mimick last year's Stanley Cup Finals when the Red Wings defeated the Pens, also in six games.
