Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall continues to pay the price for his bold fashion statements.

According to Pro Football Talk's Darin Gantt, the NFL has fined Marshall $15,000 for wearing orange shoes in Week 14's blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.

This is the third time in the past 14 months that Marshall has been hit with a hefty fine related to his choice of footwear. In October 2012 he was fined $10,500 for rocking orange kicks on Monday Night Football against the Detroit Lions and earlier this season he was slapped with another $10,500 fine for sporting green shoes in a Week 6 win over the New York Giants.

Clearly, Marshall must understand the consequences of his rebellious fashion statements by now.

Still, it's difficult to blame the 29-year-old superstar. After all, the green shoes he wore earlier this season were designed to draw attention to mental health as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.

After receiving the $10,500 fine from the league in mid-October, Marshall posted the following response on Twitter:

Although some may consider it foolish, Marshall's footwear decisions aren't hurting his team so much as they are hurting his bank account. The Bears have won each of the games in which Marshall has donned the fine-inducing footwear.

Regardless of what color shoes he's wearing, Marshall has been almost impossible to defend in 2013. The veteran has surpassed 1,000 yards receiving for the seventh consecutive season and still has three games left to play.

And with nine touchdowns to his name already, he only needs three more to finish the year with a new career high in that department.
