Woodhead had nine carries for 29 yards in Thursday’s win over the Broncos. He also caught one pass for 13 yards, as San Diego adopted a more run-oriented offense with Ryan Mathews.
Woodhead was once again upstaged by Mathews, who had 29 carries and more than 100 yards for a second straight week. When playing from ahead, Woodhead is usually under-utilized as a mediocre runner. His strengths lie with his pass-catching ability, so he could be in for another disappointing effort against the Raiders in Week 16, as the Chargers may again lean heavily on the run if staked to an early lead.
