There has been no shortage of tributes to Nelson Mandela after his death this past week, and some of them have been very touching.

Some, as we saw with Didier Drogba earlier this week, have even landed players in trouble.

But last night's effort from Sulley Muntari, the AC Milan midfielder, in the decisive Champions League group game against Ajax, was a particularly good one.

The Ghanaian midfielder had a special shirt made, with the name Mandela on the back and 95—Nelson's age at death—as his number.

The shirt was clearly seen during the preamble to the match where, rather than lining up team by team, the Ajax and AC Milan players were arm in arm.

Muntari also put on the shirt later in the evening, something the club posted on their Instagram account:

Milan managed to come away from the Netherlands with a 0-0 draw—good enough to secure their qualification for the last 16 of the Champions League at Ajax's expense.
