The 22-year-old hit Instagram with a concise, cutting jab aimed squarely at the folks keeping cash payments out of the pockets of collegiate athletes.
First off, there's no way to deny how fantastic this is. Even if you find yourself on the other side of the debate, you have to respect the creativity here.
You have to respect his business savvy, too. How many of us would have thought to spark an economic debate while also maximizing some well-positioned product placement? Maybe Henson walks away from this with a Red Bull sponsorship.
Also, props to Henson for the always controversial indoors hat. As someone who's been living in a cap for the last dozen years, it's nice to see an NBA star helping to break down that barrier.
With regard to his message, he's probably not going to sway any opinions.
But that's probably not his intention, either. By hitting the social media site—where he has more than 25,000 followers—he's simply sparking the latest round of conversation.

I won't give you my thoughts on the pay-for-play issue. Like Henson, I understand that the important thing here is sparking that debate, not directing it.
But I will tell you I'm hoping to see an Instagram beef from all of this.
What will NCAA president Mark Emmert bring to his side? I'm hoping for a plain white T-shirt with the word "scholarship" stretched out across the chest. The print has to be old English. And the s' have to be replaced with dollar signs—obviously.
