In Doc Rivers' return to Boston, his Los Angeles Clippers (15-8) upended the Celtics (10-14) by a final score of 96-88.
The Clippers were led by the steady hand of Chris Paul throughout the game and the hot shooting of Jamal Crawford in the fourth quarter. Paul went for 22 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.
Crawford scored 11 of his 21 points in the final frame and hit a pair of back-to-back threes late that essentially closed out the Celtics.
Boston was led by Jeff Green, who scored 29 points on 10-of-23 shooting. Point guard Jordan Crawford pitched in 20 points and nine assists.
