Seattle Seahawks News: Shaun Alexander's Future with His Team Is UnCertain

Cameron VaccarellaContributor IApril 20, 2008

Shaun Alexander is not a man of mystery. He is a man of pride, confidence, and honor. The Seattle Seahawks have and always will be a team of chance and wisdom.

The situation with the running back who has Hall of Fame credentials and helped put this team on the everlasting NFL map has been figured and debated and finally has an answer that makes logical sense. Someone obviously needed to light a fire under him to make him run with the same pride he had in 2005.

I can think of no better source of lighter fluid than the signing of two running backs with the ability to challenge him for his beloved starting position. The Seattle Seahawks will enter training camp with four or five running backs, and one of them definitely will be Mr. Shaun Alexander.

The only player I doubt will be there is another talented back named Maurice Morris. He stepped into the starting backfield position last year and produced little, if any, good results.

Shaun Alexander was an unhealthy, under-appreciated, non-protected superstar at 30 years old, the age when most running back are near the end of their prime, not past . He needs nothing but a push in the right direction to run like he used to.

Get Ready Seattle Seahawks fans, A.K.A "12th man"; this team will be in the Super Bowl before you blink your eyes.
