Ever heard of the saying, "Like taking candy from a baby?”
It seems as if it is too easy for the Boston Celtics to beat the Atlanta Hawks.
Boston soared over Atlanta, winning 104-81 in Game 1, shooting almost 47 percent and 56 percent beyond the arc, while its opponent shot a measly 38 percent and 21 percent from three-point range.
Boston definitely outplayed Atlanta by having six of its 10 players who played in double-digits. Kevin Garnett, who had a double-double, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Rajon Rondo, who led the game in the assists category (9), all scored 15-plus points.
With only two lead changes in the whole game, Boston was in control most of the time, but Doc Rivers still told them to keep the pressure on. It seemed as if Boston was only up by four points by the aggressiveness it displayed, but the Celtics were actually up by 20 at one point in the game.
The stats did vary between the two teams, but at the end of day, it's all about the points. Boston had nine three-pointers, 19 free throws, six steals, seven blocks, and 10 turnovers. Compare that to Atlanta's three 3-pointers, 20 free-throws, 4 steals, 8 blocks, and 15 turnovers.
The 3-pointers and double-digit points were big factors for Boston.
It is extremely obvious that the top Eastern Conference team doesn't give the other teams much of a chance.
