In their last ever match with the Seattle Seahawks at Candlestick Park, the San Francisco 49ers fought to get their biggest win of the 2013 season, moving to 9-4 and retaining the sixth seed in the NFC playoff race. It was an epic battle between these two rivals, who may very well see each other again down the road.
San Francisco got a lot of help from their defense, special teams and a clutch 51-yard run by Frank Gore late in the game.
For a game that was going to be a struggle from the get-go, the 49ers played considerably well. Obviously they can improve in several areas, but they got the win and defeated the toughest of their four remaining opponents.
It'll be interesting to see how the NFC seeding works out if this team continues to roll, because today they just proved they could beat any team in the league.
