Final: North Carolina 81, UNC-Greensboro 50

The Tar Heels move to 6-2 on the season with the 31-point win over the Spartans of UNC-Greensboro.

North Carolina finished with five players scoring in double-digits tonight and played well defensively. Britt Johnson led all scorers with 14, and Kennedy Meeks led the team with eight rebounds tonight. James Michael McAdoo also had a good game with 13 points and seven rebounds.

UNC-Greensboro was forced into 21 turnovers, and North Carolina looked good in transition.

This game was important for UNC because its two losses this season were to teams it should have beaten: Belmont and UAB. Even with the big win over Michigan State, North Carolina's consistency could be questioned.

The Tar Heels played consistent tonight even against an opponent they are supposed to beat.

The game was blew open in the first half with the Tar Heels jumping up 44-14 at the half.

For North Carolina, this was the momentum it needed as it prepares for third-ranked Kentucky next Saturday.

The Tar Heels can give Kentucky a very good game because of the up-tempo transition game. The Tar Heels, led by Marcus Paige, will need to keep the game with Kentucky as fast as possible and not allow the Wildcats to make it a half-court game.
