A Not So Rose-Y Picture

CHICAGO - APRIL 30: Derrick Rose #1 of the Chicago Bulls brings the ball upcourt against the Boston Celtics in Game Six of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals during the 2009 NBA Playoffs at the United Center on April 30, 2009 in Chicago, Illinois. The Bulls defeated the Celtics 128-127 in triple-overtime. Do you remember taking your SAT's? Some students took SAT prep-classes. Some students bought studying guides. Derrick Rose didn't need any of these. In fact, Derrick Rose didn't even need the SAT's.

Recent allegations claim that the 2009 NBA rookie of the year had another person take his SAT for him.  Associated Press writer Teresa Walker reported that, "In a letter to the school the NCAA says an unknown person took the SAT for a player, with his knowledge, and then the player used that test to get into Memphis. The NCAA said the athlete in question played for the Tigers in the 2007-08 season and the 2008 NCAA tournament. The only person who played just that season was Rose."

It seems Rose has not been outed personally, yet signs point to the Chicago Bull's star point guard. How Rose will handle these accusations is unknown.

On the court the 20 year old phenom handled himself like a veteran. Off the court the young man was as polite and courteous as possible. This is the first major hiccup in his bright professional career, but I have no doubt he will come out of it smelling like a Rose.
