Arizona State Sun Devils defeat the DePaul Blue Demons 78-56.
The Sun Devils' Jahii Carson is lead all players with 23 points. Plus, the 5'10" guard was one rebound short of a double-double. Jordan Bachynski has recorded eight blocks. Shaquielle McKissic has recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds off the bench.
For the Sun Devils, this was a much needed victory after a loss to Miami. They now have a relatively easy three home games against the Grambling State Tigers, Texas Tech Red Raiders and UC Irvine Anteaters before they start Pac-12 play.
For DePaul the loss is a tough one to swallow. Considering they were only down three points at half. DePaul's leading scorer on the year, Cleveland Melvin, was held scoreless in that first half and finished with seven points.
Brandon Young, who is second in scoring for DePaul was out with an ankle injury and the offense never took off.
This win was crucial in turning the Sun Devils' momentum. And they saw some great things out of their star players.
If McKissic can build off his stellar performance, Carson continues to be the star and Bachynski continues to block shots at a historic pace, then the Sun Devils might be a tournament team and a bigger threat than previously thought of in the Pac-12.
