The New York Knicks improved to 5-13 on the season with a 121-83 victory over the Orlando Magic on Friday night.
One day after drubbing the Brooklyn Nets by 30 points, the Knicks came out with a similar attack, one that was fueled by an abundance of three-pointers.
On the night, the Knicks shot 53 percent from the floor and 50 percent (17-of-34) from beyond the arc while Carmelo Anthony led New York with 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting. He also racked up a game-high 11 rebounds in the win.
In total, the Knicks had seven players finish in double-figures.
Andrea Bargnani and J.R. Smith each poured in 17 points while Raymond Felton helped the Knicks’ offense flow beautifully with 14 points and five assists.
Although the Magic were red-hot to start the game, they cooled off considerably in the third quarter, when they were outscored, 30-15, by the Knicks. It was the second night in a row in which the Knicks scored 30 points or more in the third quarter. New York also outscored the Magic, 32-14, in the game's final frame.
Arron Afflalo led the Magic with 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting while rookie Victor Oladipo added 17 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks in his first game since recording a triple-double against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Next up for the Knicks is a meeting with the Boston Celtics on Sunday while the Magic will look to rebound against the Houston Rockets to cap off their weekend.
