December is the busiest time of the year for Premier League fixtures, meaning there's plenty of opportunities to claim a tremendous amount of fantasy football points.

Each team will play five games from the time of writing until the end of the month in a Christmas schedule that is sure to be crammed with drama. Did you fail to pick Luis Suarez as captain against Norwich? Need points to make up for his four-goal haul and assist?

Here's four players who will score big across the festive period, using stats provided via the official Barclays Premier League fantasy football game.

Players Set to Score Big in December

Tim Howard's decent start to the season is largely down to the toughness of Everton's back four, but the American stopper showed everyone what he is capable of when Roberto Martinez's team beat Manchester United on their own turf.

The former Red Devils No. 1 made six saves during the Old Trafford contest. It was his eighth clean sheet in 14 matches, meaning he is more than likely to stop at least two sides from scoring during this month, if we're going on averages.

Although the immediate task away to Arsenal is not likely to serve up many points, Everton's run is considerably easier after this encounter. Three homes games take place after the Toffees' North London trip, with Fulham, Sunderland and Southampton visiting fortress Goodison Park.

Everton remain unbeaten at home this season. If you don't fancy Howard now, you never will.

Vlad Chiriches is new to the Premier League, but the Romanian centre-back has taken no time to adjust.

He is a lively player, prone to getting forward but also having the pace and positional awareness to effectively track back.

As we saw against Fulham, he's also capable of scoring spectacular goals from long range, suggesting there could be more to come from the 24-year-old.

Most importantly, Spurs' run of games is tipped in their favour (besides Liverpool), ensuring Chiriches has an excellent chance of contributing with a clean-sheet bonus. Andre Villas-Boas will be looking for his new signing to excel as we head toward the end of the year, something he is well capable of.

Midfielder

Samir Nasri Stats

Samir Nasri's form has been excellent in recent weeks.

The French midfielder clearly has the confidence of his boss and has made an appearance in each of Manchester City's domestic games this campaign, hitting the 60-minute mark (which adds another point to his score), ensuring you aren't missing out on too many guaranteed scores.

The former Arsenal man has scored two goals already this month and looks to have reignited his Etihad stay with an added sense of creativity.

Nasri is unplayable when he exudes energy, and with the Gunners visiting Manchester soon, he will want to haunt the team he left in 2011.

If he doesn't do that, straightforward fixtures against Fulham and Crystal Palace should aid his total.

Striker

Romelu Lukaku has been the darling of fantasy football players across the past two seasons. His willingness to go on loan—first at West Brom, now at Everton—ensures the youngster has played regular first-team football for around a year now, a run that has been met with plenty of goals.

The Belgian's importance to Everton has also skyrocketed with eight goals this campaign.

He was given the assist for Bryan Oviedo's winner against Manchester United and will be looking to capitalise on a decent run of games for the Merseyside club.

After Everton's game with Arsenal, expect the 20-year-old behemoth to hit top form with a slew of successful strikes.
