The custom-built venue in the Bahia resort of Costa do Sauipe has been built, representatives from all 32 competing nations are in Brazil and FIFA has imposed an unnecessary last-minute rule change—it looks like we are finally ready for the 2014 World Cup draw!
The glitzy ceremony, which kicks off at 4 p.m. GMT (11 a.m. ET), will decide the groups and locations in which each team will have to play, while providing entertainment from local performers and the stars of World Cups past.
Despite the best efforts of the organisers, the whole event can be a little tedious: Ninety minutes, after all, is a long time to pull 32 balls from some plastic bowls.
To help pass the time, we invite you to play our World Cup Draw bingo game.
Enjoy the draw, and, to paraphrase a popular novel about children killing each other, may the World Cup draw odds be forever in your favour.
