The free-agent market isn’t always a kind place to looming stars. Sometimes the team willing to overpay and the general manager smitten with past accolades just aren’t there.
Such is the plight of Roy Halladay, a past Cy Young winner (2003, 2010) who is hearing a great deal of crickets at the moment.

Halladay (36) had to come back from shoulder surgery in 2013, delivering mixed results upon his return in August.
Despite some bright spots, Halladay was pretty much who he was before going under the knife. He lost a bit of control and a great deal of velocity. Things that made Roy Halladay great seemed to be gone.
Now we wait to see which team is willing to throw cash his way to find out if he can indeed regain his form.
