Why the Chiefs can cover the spread
Kansas City just went through its toughest three-game stretch of the season, and the team really isn't as bad as we saw it play at Denver and at home against San Diego and the Broncos. The Chiefs will be looking to right the ship, and a step down in class against the struggling Redskins is the perfect remedy for Kansas City's losing streak.
History (5-0 SU and ATS since 1992, according to the Odds Shark NFL database) says the Chiefs can and will beat the Redskins.
Why the Redskins can cover the spread
Washington's last win came against another member of the AFC West back on Nov. 3 when it defeated the Chargers in Washington D.C. The 'Skins have lost four in a row both straight up and against the number, but a quick attack against Kansas City while it’s in a downward spiral would set the tone for Robert Griffin III.
Kansas City is the wise choice here because of its head coach. Andy Reid's tenure in Philadelphia will be the difference in this one, as he's played the Redskins annually for so many years.
He's going to know how to attack this team on its own field. The Chiefs can't afford another loss and will thrive against a less talented team than they've been facing.
- Chiefs are 5-0 SU and ATS vs. Redskins since 1992
