Mohamed Salah has certainly made an impression in the Champions League.
The Egyptian scored the winner in Basel's 1-0 Champions League victory over Chelsea last week and it is clear that the 21-year-old is looking to bigger and better things after this season.
Given that Jose Mourinho saw the player up close on two occasions this season, could the Blues make a swoop for the Egypt international?
His pace and directness is certainly something that Chelsea could use, as most of their support strikers enjoy having more time on the ball and making a pass, rather than darting straight toward goal.
Salah's pace could certainly be of use as well. With Victor Moses on loan at Liverpool, Chelsea miss that spark to stretch sides.
However, given the plethora of attacking options at the disposal of Mourinho, other areas that need strengthening and potentially a Vitesse loanee Christian Atsu possessing a similar set of skills, it does not seem likely that Salah will play for the side that he dispatched at St. Jakob-Park last week.
