Tiger Woods, you might have a golfer playing hooky this weekend.
For the Win's Nate Scott happened across a tweet to which every Auburn fan needing to work this upcoming Saturday can relate.
It just so happens to feature Jason Dufner, 2013 PGA Championship winner, asking Woods to kindly reschedule an upcoming tournament because, well, you know, Auburn is playing:
Dear Mr @TigerWoods I petition the event this week to play 36 holes Thurs and Friday,so I can watch my beloved Auburn play for SEC champ thx— Jason Dufner (@JasonDufner) December 2, 2013
UPDATE: Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at 7:35 p.m. ET by Gabe Zaldivar
And Tiger Woods has answered:
@JasonDufner Petition denied.— Tiger Woods (@TigerWoods) December 3, 2013
---End of Update---
If the tobacco spitting, belly and stoic personality didn't endear him enough to sports fans, perhaps this will. The 36-year-old is already considered a "man of the people" and is my personal favorite golfer on tour.
This is the same golfer whose inability to act riveted during story time created golf's greatest meme: Dufnering. That meme went on to capture a nation—and one particular set of mud flaps seen at this past weekend's Iron Bowl (h/t CBS Sports).
Speaking of Iron Bowl, you may have caught Alabama losing to Auburn this weekend in one of the most ridiculous and shocking finishes to a game in recent memory.
By now, you have seen Chris Davis run back a missed field goal for the win, 34-28, something Auburn fans will cherish for years.

Ah, but here is where he and his beloved team split. The Tigers, thanks to Davis' run and Alabama's linemen and their plodding pace, will take on Missouri on Saturday, Dec. 7, in the SEC Championship Game.
Dufner, we presume, will begrudgingly head out for Woods' World Challenge at Sherwood Country Club (Thousand Oaks, Calif.).
Dufner will undoubtedly come prepared with a tin of tobacco and earbuds to listen in on the game. Unless, of course, Woods has a heart of gold and excuses Dufner from what any one of us would consider a fine day on the golf course.
