It is almost that time of year, when gamers prepare to hit their local Gamestop's or Walmart's in order to secure themselves a copy of the most anticipated sports gaming title, Madden 2010.
The player ratings have always been a subject of great anticipation, as well as the subject of great scrutiny among gamers and players alike. Every fan wants their stars to be ranked among the highest, and the actual players themselves are often quite opinionated about the results.
While Madden 2010 won't hit the shelves for another few months, EA Sports has already released the player ratings for the latest game. I'm going to give you a quick snap-shot at the top 10 rankings for the quarterback position.
- Peyton Manning (99)
- Tom Brady (98)
- Drew Brees (97)
- Kurt Warner (94)
- Ben Roethlisberger (93)
- Donovan McNabb (91)
- Philip Rivers (88)
- Carson Palmer (87)
- Jay Cutler (87)
- Tony Romo (87)
For the sixth consecutive season, Peyton Manning ranks as the highest quarterback in the Madden franchise (although he was tied with Tom Brady at 99 last year). While this fact might appear irrelevant to many people, there are also a great deal of loyal gamers who value the Madden rating system (although many do tend to complain from time to time).
I mention this, not just to use the Madden player rating system as a basis for which to back up the argument supporting Peyton Manning as the best quarterback in pro football, but that it is nice to see that the people at EA Sports tend to agree with me.
