San Francisco 49ers 23, St. Louis Rams 13
The St. Louis Rams (5-7) had a two-game winning streak snapped with a devastating road loss to the San Francisco 49ers (8-4).
The Rams defense stood tall in the red zone and limited a number of promising San Francisco drives to field goals, but a special teams debacle and a Vernon Davis leap allowed the 49ers to rack up two touchdowns.
The St. Louis offense was completely shut down, other than a last-minute touchdown by Brian Quick, and backup quarterback Kellen Clemens was erratic, completing just 51.3 percent of his passes with an interception.
The 49ers will attempt to extend their wild-card lead over the Cardinals when they host the division-leading Seattle Seahawks a week from now.
The Rams will have a shot at redemption next week against Arizona—a game that could potentially have serious implications on the wild-card race.
Thanks for following along and be sure to stop by next week.
