WWE TLC 2013: Projecting the Build for Company's Top Storylines

WWE has only given themselves three weeks to prepare for this year's annual Tables Ladder and Chairs pay-per-view, but they have already made some big plans.

Projecting the direction of some of the big storylines is easy, but not all of the current angles are as predictable as usual.

The big program at the moment is the possible unification of the WWE and World Championship titles. We haven't had one top champion in over 10 years, and WWE has set a match to determine just who exactly belongs on the top of the mountain.

But that's not the only thing happening in WWE right now. Let's take a look at the major storylines and the directions they could head as we get closer to TLC 2013.

John Cena and Randy Orton

The WWE and World Championships will both be on the line in a TLC match. Unless WWE has something up their collective sleeve, we could see a new Undisputed champion crowned in a few weeks.

Randy Orton and John Cena have a well-documented past. They have fought for the title in several PPV main events, but this is the first time they will be rekindling their feud since 2010.

The most likely direction for this feud is for both men to trade attacks and promos until the match actually happens. We already know the stakes, so there is not much more to do other than use their time to keep us guessing who the winner might be.

The possibility of a new Undisputed champion is there, but something in my gut tells me that WWE will pull some kind of swerve and have them either trade titles or keep the ones they have.

The Shield Against Goldust and Cody Rhodes

2 of 4

Every match The Shield have had with Cody Rhodes and Goldust has been great, and this past Friday we saw them all compete in an hour's worth of matches on SmackDown together.

TLC will probably feature the final match these teams will have for the Tag Team titles. Ladders or Tables will probably be involved to up the stakes, and these two teams could really excite the crowd in either of those kinds of matches.

This feud has been on and off for quite some time. The Rhodes Brothers have even defended their titles against another team in between matches with The Shield.

We will probably see a few attacks or promos to set up a match at TLC. The build won't be anything new, but the match will probably be a show-stealer.

The Wyatts and Shield Against CM Punk

It's really hard to say who CM Punk will end up facing at TLC since he is currently feuding with both The Shield and The Wyatt Family.

The possibility of a match with Daniel Bryan exists if Bray Wyatt's promo from SmackDown about turning Bryan into a monster is any indication of where things are heading.

WWE has a lot of options in front of them when it comes to CM Punk. For the first time in a while, I can't tell where a storyline is heading, and I kind of like it.

AJ Lee vs. Total Divas

4 of 4

AJ will probably end up defending the Divas title against one or more of the women from the cast of Total Divas to keep the feud between them going.

Natalya and Brie Bella have already had their chance to win the title from AJ recently. Naomi and Nikki Bella seem to be the most likely candidates at the moment.

Another possibility is multiple challengers in a multi-person match. Some of the Divas have put in a lot of effort lately, and the whole division has improved in recent months because of that hard work.

AJ has been a great champion, but the longer her reign lasts the more likely it becomes that she will lose the title.

Most of the storylines in WWE involve people crossing over from one feud to another, so there are a lot of different match possibilities for TLC.

Where do you think WWE will go with the current storylines?
