Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd was recently fined $50,000 by the NBA for intentionally spilling his drink on the court to earn his team an extra timeout in a close game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban posted a video on his Twitter that shows that Kidd wasn't the first to come up with this idea.
The video shows that in a matchup between the Chicago Bulls and Dallas Mavericks during the 2008-09 season, Bulls assistant coach Del Harris attempted the same stunt Kidd was fined for. Ironically, the announcers mention that Kidd (who was then the Mavericks point guard) is "directing traffic" in the cleanup process.
