Final Score: UCF 23, USF 20
After five long years the "War on I-4" was reprised and it more than lived up to expectations. Blake Bortles and the UCF Knights managed to overcome five turnovers and their second lowest scoring output of the season to take their first ever victory over the USF Bulls in a thriller.
While the victory was hardly impressive from a matchup standpoint, it showed the resiliency of these Knights. USF clearly came into this game highly motivated and that was evidenced in their play. Freshman quarterback Mike White made a number of impressive third-down conversions, but alas, it wasn't enough.
With their victory, UCF clinched at least a share of the American title and reaffirmed their status as a BCS contender. USF gave UCF the fight of their lives and in finding a way to pull out the victory, the Knights reminded BCS voters of their ability to fight through adversity.
