MMA, Matt Serra, Rich Franklin, Georges St. Pierre, Breaking News

UFC 83 in Montreal was all it was expected to be, filled with exciting bouts and monster fighters going at each other.

The night started off with Mac Danzig obtaining his first win in the UFC since winning the Ultimate Fighter TV show.

The next big fight on the card was Rich Franklin vs Travis Lutter. This was a battle of the No. 2 and No. 3 fighters in the middleweight division.

The first round belonged to Lutter for the most part until his energy was almost completely gone. That's when Franklin stepped up and started to wear him down.

The second round was the end for Lutter. He was completely out of gas and couldn't protect himself. The referee awarded the TKO victory to Franklin.

Then it was time for the fight of the night, Georges St. Pierre vs Matt Serra. Right out of the gate, George St. Pierre came out and took Serra down pretty easily.

From there it was all St. Pierre, he got on top and would not let Serra out of his gun sights.

St. Pierre ended the champ's run in the second round by a TKO and took back his title.

Now that he is back on top of the division, it looks like no one can match his desire and work ethic to take his title away.

  1. I don't have anything against "gsp" but watching serra lose the belt literally made me SICK.

  2. What made me sick was watching the arrogant gestures that pompus a$$ Serra has been exibiting this past year. I am so glad he got knocked back down to reality. I can't imagine how much bigger his head would have become had he won last night. His George Jefferson strut was sickening enough to watch and then his mouth woud open...urrrh. He is no where near the well rounded and model athlete that GSP is. The belt is right back where is should be. It was your mistake to get comfortable seeing it around Serra's waist.

  3. Paula evidently does not spend much time in New York or Jersey or she would recognize the strut; only John Travolta can do it better.

  4. Give Serra credit, he was given an opportunity and siezed the moment. GSP overlooked Serra and did not properly train. The second fight he was focused and it never was a fight. They could fight 10 times and GSP would win 9 of the 10. Serra will not be good enough to get back to the top, but for one day he was the best.
