Odds Shark computer prediction: 38-30 upset for Clemson

Why Clemson can cover the spread

The Tigers are 10-1 on the year, and the lone loss came at home. They're a perfect 4-0 on the road and ride into Columbia with quadruple-revenge on the brain. Since being drilled in the highly anticipated clash with Florida State, the Tigers have outscored four opponents by a combined final of 206-74.

The computer has called the upset here, 38-30.

Why South Carolina can cover the spread

The Gamecocks have won and covered the last four meetings. And these haven't been sneak-by wins, as South Carolina has won by margins of 17, 22, 21 and 10 points the past four years. South Carolina is outscoring its guests this year by an average final of 37-17.

Oh, and South Carolina is 6-1 ATS in seven meetings with Clemson and have dominated ACC competition (8-2 ATS past 10 games).

Smart Pick

South Carolina looks like the play here, all based on Florida State's crushing win over the Tigers back on Oct. 19. The blueprint has been laid out for the ol' ball coach, and if there is anyone who can execute a game plan, it's Steve Spurrier. He'll have the Gamecocks ready for this annual rivalry.

  • Clemson is just 1-6 ATS in seven recent clashes with South Carolina
  • Seven of past nine Clemson games vs SEC teams went UNDER the total
  • South Carolina is 8-2 ATS past 10 vs. ACC schools
