Shane Long needed just over 10 minutes to put West Bromwich Albion in control against local rivals Aston Villa in their Premier League matchup Monday night. But Villa fought back with a strong second half for a 2-2 draw.
In the third minute, Long collected a long ball with eye-popping skill and finished in the far corner for a 1-0 lead.
He struck again in the 11th minute, pouncing on a defensive miscue before chipping over Brad Guzan to make it 2-0.
Karim El Ahmadi pulled one back for Villa in the 67th minute with a calm finish over the onrushing Boaz Myhill.
Ashley Westwood bagged the equaliser nine minutes later with a rocketed shot that veered away from Myhill. It was Westwood's first goal for Villa.
