The Bears are led at the plate by junior first baseman Dustin Dickerson (.381), junior infielder Shaver Hansen (.333) and freshman infielder Joey Hainsfurther (.341).

The mound workers are junior right-hander Kendal Volz (3-6, 4.54 ERA), sophomore right-hander Shawn Tolleson (1-2, 4.50 ERA), and sophomore right-hander Craig Fritsch (4-5, 5.29 ERA).

Southern

The Jaguars claimed the SWAC Tournament title over Alcorn State to earn an automatic bid.

The Jags' bats are led by senior outfielder Brad McDavid (.358), junior outfielder Victor Franklin (.331), and junior outfielder James Armstrong (.343).

Southern's pitching is led by their ace Jarrett Maloy (8-2, 3.14 ERA).  Also pitching for the Jags is senior right-hander James Spear (5-2, 4.32 ERA) and junior lefty Chase Richard (6-3, 4.41 ERA).

The winner of the Baton Rouge Regional will face the winner of the Houston Regional.  That regional consists of Rice, Kansas State, Xavier, and Sam Houston State.
