One player whose name may be linked with a move elsewhere is Jermain Defoe.
The striker has started just one Premier League game this season, appearing off the bench in a further seven.
Nine goals and a regular starting place in Tottenham's team for the Europa League and Capital One Cup have helped keep Defoe active. However, given his team's struggle to score goals in the league, he will undoubtedly be frustrated at his lack of opportunities in the competition.
With the possibility of it affecting the 31-year-old's status in the England squad ahead of next summer's World Cup, Defoe is a prime candidate for speculation about a move away from White Hart Lane.
The reality may differ. Earlier this month, Defoe told the Daily Express' Matthew Dunn he did not want to leave Spurs:
Fans ask me all the time, but I don’t need to tell anybody I am frustrated. That is just normal. People know I love my football, and I love scoring goals. When I am not getting the opportunity to do that, it is frustrating.
But I have never once said I wanted to leave this football club. Even when I left the first time, I didn't say I wanted to leave the club. All I will say is that I want to play.
With over a month to go until the transfer window opens, Defoe's situation could change to the point a transfer is the farthest thing from anyone's mind.
In the meantime, check back here for all the latest news and rumours surrounding his future. Defoe stories are unlikely to be a daily occurrence, so also included will be talk of Tottenham interest in other strikers that may impact on his future.
