Final: Boise State 31, San Diego State 34 OT
The Boise State Broncos, now 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the Mountain West fell to San Diego State Saturday night in overtime. The Aztecs now move to 7-4 overall and 6-1 in the MWC.
Boise State needed this win to control its own destiny going into the last week of the season. Now, the Broncos need Utah State to lose to Wyoming at home, and beat New Mexico in Bronco Stadium to make it to the inaugural MWC championship game.
It sounds like a very tall task.
Probably the most painful aspect of this game for Boise State fans was that their team had a chance to win it in regulation. However, kicker Dan Goodale missed a 43-yard field goal wide left.
Boise State has four losses in the regular season. That is two more than any other regular season, and one more than any total season under Chris Petersen.
