Michigan State 96, Virginia Tech 77 (Final)

The Spartans showed why they're the No. 1-ranked team in the nation with a 96-77 semis win over Virginia Tech at the Coaches Vs. Cancer Classic at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. 

Adreian Payne led Michigan State with a career-high 29 points, 20 of which he scored in the first half. He shot 4-for-6 from 3-point range and made each of five attempts from the line. 

Tech's Jarell Eddie scored 23 points, while Adam Smith's late surge led to a team-high 27. 

Michigan State faces Oklahoma in the tournament championship, which airs at 9:30 p.m. EST tomorrow on truTv.
