Personally, I am not a fan of the sports entertainment style the WWE shoves down my throat. I would rather see a wrestling show that's about actually wrestling.
While it seems that we are getting less of it on SmackDown and ECW(which I am thankful for) the bulk of the segments are fed to us on RAW. I believe we need to see more diverse wrestlers.
However, if I had my say I know exactly who I would give significant pushes. All of these gentlemen are extremely talented and can get it done in the ring.
These are the 10 WWE Superstars who I would give a push.
If his feuds with Rey Mysterio and various cruiserweights showed us anything, it's that Chavo is a tremendous wrestler. His style incorporates some European and lucha libre.
A third generation superstar, all of this is forgotten when he is made to look like a gopher. He should at least be in the U.S. title picture, instead, he's losing matches to Santino Marella.
Brian Kendrick is an excellent high flyer who has great mic work. Which is why I wonder why this guy hasn't been given a permanent push.
I thought he was going to be given a push when he was involved in the Championship scramble match at Unforgiven last year. Sadly, he was pushed backward. This is a guy whose talents shouldn't be wasted. He should also be in the U.S. Title picture.
A former wrestling standout at Seton Hall University, Charlie Haas is one of the better technical wrestlers in the company hopefully now that they got rid of that impersonation gimmick and a re-teaming with Shelton Benjamin they'll give him a chance to shine with possibly some championship gold on his waist.
Singles wise and with a manager could be a great Intercontinental Champion.
I just like Knox's look. He's a scruffy, old school brawler monster with some athleticism. Unfortunately, just when it seems that Knox is getting a push, he just gets stalled.
It happened on ECW twice, it happened on RAW, and it looks like it's happening on SmackDown. I would love to see this guy in some main events on PPV's down the line, but it probably won't happen.
I would give this guy an upper mid card- main event push.
Regal started getting a push in 2008 when he was the General Manager and the King of the Ring Winner. He's now back in a mid-card role which isn't so bad, but I think he could be a main eventer.
It's probably a little to late to try and push him now but hey, a man can dream can't he?
This guy needs a push more than anyone on this list. He's so talented yet WWE wants to continues to have him job. They need to do something with this guy fast.
The future is very bright for the final graduate of the infamous Hart Family Dungeon. He's an excellent high-flyer who can also slow it down with his technical wrestling ability. Add in a manager like Natalya and the sky's the limit for Kidd.
I think in due time, he will be headlining some Pay-Per-Views
He has been given some time in the main event picture, but I believe now is the time for MVP to get his shine on. Once that happens, MVP will truly be "ballin".
He's been in the mid card scene for a while now. But I think Kofi can become a huge star if WWE plays their cards right. This guy loves to fly and the fans love to see that. I wonder though if his character is too nice to be pushed up any further than the midcard?
I am really excited about this guy. He is like the second coming of Rey Mysterio. I think the crowd needs to connect with him better because when he first comes out, the crowd sounds dead sometimes.
More mic time will handle that. This guy had superstar written all over him.
Jack Swagger (ECW Champion, reason for mention)
Jimmy Wang Yang
In closing, I realize that you can't push every single wrestler. Each has their roles that they play.
However, you shouldn't overlook anyone. As for my honorable mentions I would have definitely included them in the list if it were longer. These were just names that popped in my head AFTER I finished the list.
Thanks for reading.
