Geno Smith: Week 12 Fantasy Outlook

RotoWireContributor November 20, 2013

Despite steadily diminishing returns, Smith remains the Jets' starting quarterback headed into a Week 12 matchup with the Ravens. Considering last week's 34.8 percent completion rate, 103 yards and three interceptions against the Bills, not to mention the fact that Smith hasn't reached 200 yards in the last three games, he's not an advisable fantasy start this week.
Smith does have a couple things going for him -- Santonio Holmes is back healthy, as are tight ends Kellen Winslow and Jeff Cumberland. But no one's established himself as a go-to playmaker for the rookie quarterback, and poor decision-making combined with inconsistent pass protection have crippled Smith's fantasy potential. He was yanked for backup Matt Simms last week, and it seems likely that Rex Ryan wouldn't hesitate to do so again if Smith's struggles continue.
