Expectations were made to be broken. 

Whether by exceeding them or falling far short, NBA players and teams are already taking what we thought we knew in preseason and turning it on its head.

Once again, there are those that the "experts" and fans wrote off as destined for failure. Some of them have not only turned out to be legit, but have proven the doomsdayers and naysayers foolish.

As always, there were also plenty of preseason paper champions and "sure thing" breakout candidates. As they sputter in the early goings, we're left to wonder what we all fell in love with in the first place.
