Bryan FlynnAnalyst IMay 25, 2009

After being washed out on Sunday NASCAR’s longest race the Coke-Cola 600 was to be run on Monday. The race got started without any problems but then the rains came. The race had two rain delays and the caution came out on lap 228 just over half way with another rain delay. The top twelve cars came in to the pits for gas and a tire change. That left David Reutimann in the lead and when the race was called Reutimann was the winner. Ryan Newman finished second, in third was Robbie Gordon, followed by Carl Edwards and, in fifth place was Brian Vickers. The top five in points finished with leader Jeff Gordon in 14th place, behind him Tony Stewart in 19th place, followed by Kurt Bush in 37th place, with Jimmie Johnson in 13th place and fifth place in the points Denny Hamlin in 11th place.
