With another week of college football wrapped up, another team has fallen out of contention for the national championship.

The Stanford Cardinal lost a close one against their Pac-12 rivals in the USC Trojans, losing 20-17.  Tyler Gaffney was able to run for 158 yards and two touchdowns, but a tough day for Kevin Hogan, who threw two interceptions, certainly hurt the team's chances.

With the Stanford loss, the BCS rankings have shaken up quite a bit.  Below are the updated standings for Week 13 for the Top 25 teams, followed by a breakdown of the rankings.

The Alabama Crimson Tide held on to the No. 1 spot, and it's no surprise.  They didn't win the prettiest game over Mississippi State, but they're still undefeated in a tough conference and are the defending national champions, so it would take a lot more for them to fall out of the top spot.

With another big win, the Florida State Seminoles stay at No. 2, and with the way they keep playing, they should be good to go for a national championship bid with remaining games against Idaho and Florida.

The big question in this week's rankings was whether Baylor could hop over Ohio State due to the fact that they've blown out so many teams with their high-powered offense.  However, with a convincing win of their own against Illinois, the Buckeyes were able to stay ahead of the Bears.

The Cardinal didn't fall too far, dropping to No. 9.  It could have been worse, as some felt that they could have fallen well out of the Top 10.

Oklahoma State was the only new team to enter the Top 10 this week, and it was thanks to a very convincing win over the Texas Longhorns, who dropped out of the Top 25.  Clint Chelf, who has replaced J.W. Walsh, has done a great job leading the offense to some solid wins.

One team that's kept climbing up the rankings is the Michigan State Spartans, who are quietly 9-1 this year.  The Spartans are coming off of an impressive 41-28 win, but their defense has been the story, allowing just 13.2 points per game.

With a 6-0 conference record, they can clinch the Big Ten Legends division with a win next week, setting up a likely Big Ten championship between Michigan State and the Buckeyes.

The Wisconsin Badgers have also been creeping up the standings, moving to No. 19 this week after demolishing Indiana with a 51-3 win.  The ground game was incredible, putting up 554 yards on the ground.  With James White and Melvin Gordon, the Badgers can make big plays with ease on the ground.

The three new entrants to the Top 25 are USC, Ole Miss and Minnesota, with all of them certainly deserving to be in the standings.  The Trojans got that big win over Stanford, while Ole Miss and Minnesota have had very respectable seasons in their conferences.

There might not have been a ton of big shakeups, but the postseason picture is starting to shape up as we approach the end of the season.
