The Miami Dolphins successfully defended their home turf against the San Diego Chargers. San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers was forced to throw a mini Hail Mary pass with seven seconds left in regulation. Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes was able to knock the pass down.

The Dolphins improve to 5-5 and are now tied with the New York Jets for the sixth playoff seed. Miami now has a tiebreaker with San Diego and Cleveland, two of the 4-6 teams vying for the final playoff spot.

The team has its playoff destiny in its own hands, thanks to the Baltimore Ravens' loss to the Chicago Bears during today. The Dolphins have the ability to directly deal the New York Jets two more losses, as the teams will play each other twice in the coming weeks.

Final Score:

Miami Dolphins - 20

San Diego Chargers - 16
