Ohio State 60, Illinois 35—Final

The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes extended the nation’s longest winning streak to 22 Saturday afternoon with a 60-35 victory over the Illinois Fighting Illini.

The Buckeyes (10-0) rushed for 447 yards, fueled by 247 from Carlos Hyde and 189 from Braxton Miller, to put away a stubborn Illinois team.

Ohio State's defense, crippled with injuries, was gashed by Illinois' offense. The Fighting Illini put up 35 points, the most the Buckeyes have surrendered this year, to complement 425 yards of total offense. Quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase piled up 341 total yards and three touchdowns.

Still, the Buckeyes proved to be too much for Illinois, which falls to 3-7 on the year. Ohio State's BCS title argument may have been weakened with its shaky performance, but the victory does ensure that the Buckeyes are still in the race.
