Congratulations if you decided to start Coby Fleener this week. It was a gamble that paid off in a big way.
The second-year tight end was in the midst of the best game of his career on Thursday night against the Tennessee Titans, per Kevin Bowen of Colts.com.
He finished with eight receptions for 107 yards.
Fleener emerged onto the scene after getting eight receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown back in Week 2. Since then, though, the results have been mixed.
One week, Fleener looks like a stud tight end. The next, he can't eclipse 20 yards.
In the seven games between that loss to the Miami Dolphins and Thursday night's clash with the Tennessee Titans, he averaged 36.6 yards a game and has had two touchdowns.
With that in mind, you should be cautiously optimistic about Fleener's prospects from here on out. Perhaps he can become a more consistent fantasy performer the rest of the season.
More likely, though, he'll remain a risky option to start each week. Monitor the Colts matchups so you might have a better idea if Fleener is set to break out again.
