TOP NEWS : Look up in the sky, it's a bird, it's plane, no it's Matt Wieters. Andy MacPhail announced that Wieters will be called up for action on Friday.

American League News

Zack Greinke did it again; another complete game win for Greinke who improved to 8-1.

David Ortiz was dropped to the sixth spot in the order for the Red Sox and went 1-for-3 Tuesday night.

The Mariners placed Kenji Johjima on the 15-day DL with a broken toe.

Denard Span, out with the flu, was back in the lineup and playing center field Tuesday night.

Pat Burrell, recovering from a stiff neck, will not return until this weekend.

The Rays placed infielder Jason Bartlett on the 15-day DL.

Grady Sizemore could be heading to the DL with a bum elbow.  Sizemore said yesterday, "I'm going to take some days off from throwing and then re-evaluate it. It's tough, because no one wants to be out for a long period of time. We're trying to get by without doing that.".

Travis Hafner, recovering from a shoulder injury, is expected to return to the Indians’ lineup after this weekend's series.

Coco Crisp had to leave Tuesday's game after four innings with a sore right shoulder.

Bobby Abreu finally hit his first homer of the season.

Melky Cabrera, suffering from strained right shoulder, had X-rays Tuesday which came back negative.  Cabrera is listed as day-to-day for now.

Nothing can slow Brian Roberts down. After leaving Monday's game with a bruised left shin, and questionable for Tuesday's game, Roberts was in the lineup Tuesday night and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.

J.J. Hardy, suffering from back problems, was out of the lineup for a fourth consecutive game..

Ryan Braun had to leave Tuesday's game in the fifth inning after being hit by a pitch in his right wrist. X-rays were negative and he is listed as day-to-day.

Pablo Sandoval, trying to recover from a bum elbow, is expected to return to the lineup Friday.

Hanley Ramirez had to leave Tuesday's game in the third inning with a tight right groin.

Joe Blanton fanned a career-high 11 in seven shutout innings to improve to 3-3.

Brad Lidge collected his ninth save of the season Tuesday night.

Livan Hernandez pitched a complete game winner Tuesday night against the Nationals.

Yunel Escobar, suffering from a strained hip flexor, had to sit out his fourth straight game Tuesday.

Juan Pierre had three hits, including a triple, two runs scored and two RBI.

Tim Lincecum struck out eight and walked two for his fourth win of the season.
