Hulk Hogan, wants to be a WrestleMania XXX

Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has been insisting to friends that he will be at WrestleMania XXX in 2014, even if he has to settle for buying a ticket and sitting ringside.

Ever since the star noted to Bill Apter that he was "done" with TNA and it was time to move on, speculation has been flying about his future.

As I discussed recently, considering Hogan's limited options in the business, it seems inevitable that he'll be back with Vince McMahon at some point. For a Legend's Deal, if nothing else.

Jimmy Hart, says Hogan wants to be a WrestleMania XXX.

As Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted last week, no deal has officially, or unofficially, been made between WWE and Hogan yet. But that doesn't mean the performer isn't actively campaigning for a match at the Mercedes-Benz Astrodome next year.

In a recent interview with The Baltimore Sun, Hogan's close friend Jimmy Hart, currently doing a press tour for the History of WWE: 50 Years of Sports Entertainment DVD, noted to Arda Ocal that the Hall of Famer was very keen to be at event:

"Hogan knew I was doing this press tour with WWE promoting the DVD," Hart said from Mobile, Ala., on Wednesday. "He told me to say exactly this: Hulk Hogan will be at WrestleMania if he has to buy a ticket and sit at ringside."

Hart went on to say that he thought Hogan had one more match left in him:

I think he can step into the ring one more time. We have a school in Florida, and he stepped into the ring there and did some stuff, and he looked great. As his friend, I'd be the first one to say, 'Listen Hulk, do us a favor, just go out to the ring to Real American, say OK Brother, rip the shirt, do the pose, sign a bunch of autographs and people will still be just as happy,' ... but he does have a couple of good matches left in him, he really does. I've got my fingers crossed we see something at WrestleMania.

He then mentioned that current World Heavyweight champion John Cena would be his first choice for an opponent on April 6.

John Cena, future Hogan opponent?

This makes sense. Assuming Hogan does work the show, it would seem crazy to put him in a bout with anyone but Cena.

For many fans, a Cena/Hogan showdown is one of the few dream matches left in wrestling.

Of course, critics could point out that the bout probably wouldn't be very good from a technical standpoint. After all, Hogan's serious back problems and ailing physical state are well known.

Cena would have to work incredibly hard just to get something remotely watchable out of the 60-year-old. As talented as he is, it will be a struggle even for him.

But it's difficult to argue that Cena/Hogan wouldn't still be a huge spectacle that would garner major interest from both fans and the mainstream, helping to establish WrestleMania XXX as one of the biggest events in wrestling history.
