Pitchforks and torches were once the tools of choice for angry mobs, but thanks to the Internet, no one even has to leave the house in order to chase someone out of town.

If you want to ride someone out on a rail in 2013, all you have to do is get their contact info and post it online—a tactic Miami Dolphins fans (and other denizens of the Web) used earlier this week to harass team general manager Jeff Ireland.

Fins fans, among others, somehow managed to get their hands on Ireland’s contact info on Tuesday night, according to Ryan Yousefi of MiamiNewTimes.com.

The info in question included Ireland’s personal email address, phone number and office address, among other things. The information was circulated throughout Twitter, and in no time, fans were burning up the lines and inundating Ireland’s inbox with spam email.

The maelstrom began sometime around 10 p.m. on Tuesday night, and Twitter users celebrated the spamming lustily:

Other users claimed to have subscribed Ireland to a laundry list of NSFW websites.

The source of the spam appears to be an autographed business card of Ireland’s put up for sale on eBay:

This hasn’t been confirmed, although the user claimed he paid $33.00:

Is it worth every penny?

Dolphins fans have been voicing their frustration with Ireland for some time now, and the team’s general manager appears to have only made matters worse in his handling of the bully/hazing scandal currently embroiling the franchise.

That being said, Dolphins fans are now fighting fire with fire. Bullying, even cyberbullying, is still bullying. Or perhaps Fins fans are just taking Ireland’s own advice and “punching” back.
