John Wall suffered an eye injury in the Washington Wizards' loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.

According to Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News, Wall was hit in the right eye. He wouldn't return to the game.

To add insult to injury, he didn't even get the foul call when poked in the eye, per the Washington Post's Michael Lee.

Prior to exiting, the star point guard was 5-of-19 from the floor with 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Wizards fans shouldn't get too ahead of themselves. As Lee points out, the game was already pretty much over by the time Wall left the floor.

There's no sense in having your star player out there in a blowout after he got poked in the eye. You're better off playing it safe and living to fight another day.

Where Wall goes, so will the Wizards this season. They can't afford to risk their best player to further injury, especially in a blowout. The key now will be getting him back to full health for the more important games ahead.
