It wasn’t easy, but the Ohio State Buckeyes held off in-state foe Ohio in Columbus 79-69 Tuesday night. Amir Williams led the way with his first ever double-double by posting 14 points and 10 rebounds.

If Thad Matta gets that type of production from his big man this year he will be very pleased.

The best offensive play for the Scarlet and Gray was getting to the free-throw line, which made life a lot easier for a team that was struggling from the field. Ohio State shot an almost ridiculous 51 free throws on the night, as four Bobcats fouled out.

Next up for the 2-0 Buckeyes is a date with Marquette in what will be a marquee nonconference showdown. The Bobcats will take on Valparaiso.
