Despite the wildly impressive play of quarterback Nick Foles under center of late, the tight end position for the Philadelphia Eagles remains largely ignored. Though both Celek and rookie tight end Zach Ertz caught touchdown passes during Foles' seven-touchdown virtuoso performance, Celek caught just one pass this past Sunday, while Ertz was not even targeted.
It appears that Foles much prefers wide receivers Riley Cooper and DeSean Jackson to either of his tight ends. The inability of Celek or Ertz to get going this season could also be a product of the Chip Kelly offense, which focuses on the big play. No matter the reason, Celek is not a recommended play due to his lack of targets and production.
